    Grade 10 Music Overview

Students in grade 10 MYP music will have already gained a strong foundation in general music and while have good performance skills on a specific band instrument. It is time for them to explore music, both as individuals and in groups. Having studied past music and world music, students may now ask themselves, “What comes next?” Students in grade 10 will study the Rising Norm of Dissonance, and how current composers are breaking the rules of music and how new musical forms are emerging around them. This will be done through process work in the Developmental Workbook.
