Wiki's are websites that users can edit. I like to think of the structure of them being like a tree. The first place you go to is like the trunk, for instance "Grade 5". Grade 5 would have some sort of message and then links. These links could be PYP units or reading logs or any other link. These links are like the branches. The branches could further branch, for instance the PYP unit could branch into separate units and then lines of inquiry and so on?

Wikis can be created on the school server. They look like they are easy to set up and keep adding too. I can think of many ideas of what to use the Wikis for.

Email Ann/Billy to set up Wiki page. Grade 3 would like to set up a Wiki for Ancient Civilisations to unite students' information and perhaps to use for homework

www.ted.com great site with talks and presentations about a huge range of topics. Ideal if you can't get an expert in to speak about a topic you're covering.

Juan, ted.com has a talk about genes and genetics!

www.voicethread.com is a great site to have online discussions about media items (pictures, movies, etc.). Wonderful tool for publishing reflections, student portfolios, collaborative projects across borders, and whatever else you can think of.

How about a Learning Support Wiki? I think we should make one so that teachers (particularly in MYP/DP) can share strategies/resources and ideas which are proving to be effective in meeting the specific learning needs of individual students.

If you want to read .HWP (you might get a file from Korean students but can't find any way to open it), just visit "springnote.com". When you upload the .hwp file, you can read and save it .doc file too.

Quizlet - how can we type accents for other languages into web fields?

option E + E will give you an accent aigu on an E, for example. Are there keystrokes for other accents? Could someone who knows this create a little video tutorial on how to do this? :)

When I view "Quizlet" and want to input answer in Pinyin but how can I insert four tones for Pinyin?
