Oil spill in Gulf of mexico
An oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico that people thought was manageable about a month ago ,now experts found it as an enviromental disaster.The leakang was 5,000 feet down.There were attempts to stop the leak at it's source but was a failure.1,000 barrels or 42,000 gallons a day cotinued to spill.It is being reported as the largest oil spill in the American History.The rig caught on fire, how it happened is still unexplained.11 out of 26 people died in the explosion.The rig sank after the explosion.The oil spill is now slight bigger than the state of Verginia.It is hard to say how much water is contaminated.It has become a threat to endangered species too.There is a posibility of setting the oil on fire because it is better to have smoke for the species than oil as reported by Spokesperson Rachael Maddow as on April 23rd.The have sent robots to seal off the leakage, but it might take 3 months to drill a diversion well that leads to a storage facility.
Transportation
Hi my name in Aditya and I am in grade 4. In our current unit that is Our Resources we have been split in 4 groups working on 4 different topics like my group worked on transportation and the other groups are water, electricity one more. The members of my group are Me, Sasha, Eyn Pyo and Hyeon Sik Choi.There are many transport vehicles these are some cars, trucks, buses, pedestrians, bicycles, motor scooters, non motorized small vehicles , subways, motor bikes, arial tramway, cable car on rails, chair lift, cog railway, rickshaw, pedicap, horse drawn carts, sedan chairs, airlines, boats, trains, submarine space shuttle.Transport vehicles are renewable.
Field trip to Zheng He Shipyard and Zheng He Park
When I went to Zheng He's shipyard, I tried to open the gate, I climbed to the top of the statue of Zheng He and I went on a replicate of Zheng He's supply ship. When I went there I saw stuff like a replicate of Zheng He’s supply ship, a statue of Zheng He and a door that open and shut to let the ships come in and go out. I learned that Zheng He's 2nd voyage was on 1407-!409, his 3rd voyage was on 1409–1411, his 4th voyage was on 1413–1415 , Zheng He's 5th voyage was on 1416–1419, his 6th Voyage was on 1421–1422 and the Voyage Zheng he died was on 1430–1433. The thing I most enjoyed was going on the replicate on the supply ship.

Refletion on Summitive Assment
I did well in my summative assessment because I published my page before the time ran out. I first did a draft for how should do my web page. After a teacher checked your work you can start using the Mac's to go on I Web and start making my website. This was what it looked like in the end Aditya.I really liked the summative assessment because it was really fun and we get to have our own websites.
Why Day, night, seasons and Gravity happen
Day and night happens because the Earth rotates. So at any time, half of the Earth is facing the Sun, so it is bright and day time there and the other half is facing away from the Sun so it is dark and night time. As the Earth continues to rotate, parts that were facing the Sun are soon facing away from it and the parts facing away from it are now facing it, so everywhere gets day and night.
The earth spins on its axis and it takes 24 hours to complete one full rotation. The earth has a northern hemisphere and a southern hemisphere with the equator round the middle. The earth spins at an angle of 23.5 degrees and it is this which causes the seasons. When the northern hemisphere is tilted away from the sun this is winter because the sun's rays are more less spread out and the sun is lower in the sky. At the same time when the southern hemisphere is tilted towards the sun the sun's rays are more spread out and the sun is higher in the sky - this would be summer.
Gravity is a force that pulls you to it earth has enough gravity to keep us on the ground and not 0 gravity or we would just float in the air and end up being space or not too much or the people on earth be dwarfs.
Spring Holiday
First in the spring I was in Nanjing. The beginning of spring holiday I went to Ikea with ameya, his parents and my parents for window shopping, but the shop was so interesting so we could not resist taking some things, so we didn't do window shopping. We bought stuff like a yellow Umbrella, a clock which tells the water in the area and a thermometer which tells the temperature of the house, two food containers, few clips and a designer show piece. Ameya’s family bought a lot more things than us. Ameya and me went ahead so we can play on our cell phones. The next day my family went alone to a wonderful strawberry farm. When we reached the farm they let us choose which type of strawberry we want. We chose the rarest type and the best type a person told me which strawberry I should pick and which strawberry I shouldn't. Then they gave a box and we went to a green house. I picked a box full of strawberry and my parents picked half a box. Then we came out of that really hot green house and stood in line to weigh the strawberry and pay the money. My spring holiday was really fun.
What I Learnt When I Went to MOUCHO
When I went to MOUCHO I learnt that they only have Chinese coppys.
They are planing to increase the price from1 yuan to more money.
The company that has paid the most to MOUCHO is a wine company.
MOUCHO is mainly focused on people inside the numbers 30 to 40 year old people.
They are in diferent contrys but the words are in chinese.
Winter Holiday
On the first day of winter holiday I was going to India........ On the first day I had a flight at 10:45pm. It took us 8 hours to reach Singapore (we reached there at 6:45am) (we ie., me and my mom). We were in Singapore for 5 hours (because we were going to India). We stayed in the T3 Transit Hotel or the T3 Ambassador Hotel (there is one hotel in every terminal) (the terminals are T1, T2 and T3). When it was 4:00 we checked out. It took us 15 min to walk to the gate. We reached the gate 4:15, so we had 15 min till it was check in time. We just sat on the seat and waited for 15 min to pass. When it was time for us to check in I quickly jumped and stood in line. My mom got up and told me to come back were she was, so I went back. When we were in and we sat down my mom started to fill the form. I asked how much time do we have to wait and my mom said 15 min because our flight was at 4:45. When I got on the plane I went to our seat at fell to sleep for the whole time. I heard that it took 6 hours to reach Cochin (south of India or bottom of Bombay) (on the map or globe).
When we reached Cochin it was 35c. Ammuma, Muthashan and Chinnu Chechi were there to receive us. WE had a big car so we could put all our 2 big bags and 2 small bags.It was a 1 hour from the airport to Tripunithura(Thats my Grandma and Grandpa lived).
I was still tiered but when I put my head in the passing air I wasn't tiered anymore.I kept on putting my head in the passing until we reached there.
Quickly got out and pressed the lift I asked my mom if I could go but she said that she will neads help with the bags. So I went to my mom and helped her I kept open the lift so they could put the bages in.I got I with the rest of us and we went to the 4th floor. We lived in AR4.I quickly rolled my bag and went in. and for a week I was at home and I did not do any thing . The next week I went to the Dentist to pluck one tooth. On sunday it was Suni Ammavan's Wedding.It was realy fun because I had great food,Great Drinks,Great place called Guruvayur,I got to hold his hand all the time and last but no least I Met some of my old Friends. Monday 28th I went to Singapore Our fight was at ten 45. On the way to singapore (on the flight) I had a lot of Water and Coke.

We reached the gate at around 4:40, so we had 5 min till it was check in time. We just sat on the seat and waited for 5 min to pass.On the plane to China I saw Mr.Underwood,ati,ato,Mrs.Naiden and Mr.JeffDay.Onthe plane I was seeing movies on the small T.V on the plane seat. when we reached Nanjing we were the last one to leav because we needed asistances so we got out and sat in the cab and came Home.
Sandvik Vist
On Monday the 2nd of November the grade 4 went to Sandvik for a field trip. We left at 8:15am to get on the bus to get there. During the ride I sat at the back of the bus with Martin's MOM. I talked with Marti's mom for along time. After a while I got board. That’s why I just looked out of the window till we were there. When we arrived after a one hour we got into our groups and lined up to go to the canteen to leave our stuff there and listen to Mr. Peter’s presentation the first part was about him. He said that he was a wife 2 children and his hobbies were to drink beer and work Sandvik. Second he said he will tell you about Sandvik's History. He said that Sandvik was found in the 1800s.After the slide show was over it was lunch time. We only had a little of time to eat because we where running late on schedule. When we finished eating we got ear plunges so the sound would not affect our ears. When we went out it was freezing cold (we also had to take our bags but luckily I had a bag with wheels so I did not have to carry it).When we got in we didn't have to wear the ear plunges because it was not so noisy there. Then Mr. Martin told us what the machines do and what the machines are called. That is all we did their. When we went to the bus we could not go inside because we had to say a Biggggggggg thank yo to him. After that the teachers aloud us to go inside the bus and warm up ourselves. Then we set off back to N.I.S.
Shanghai Soccer trip
Grade four went to Shanghai Soccer trip on 15th October. We left
The school at 1:30pm (we went on a big bus).Each class had a different bus. I sat with Rick, Wily, Zehe and Mrs.Chen (I fell asleep).
When I got we where in Shanghai. Around 1:30 there was a big traffic jam. After half an hour the
Driver got impatient. He took us through a way which not allowed to go through (for only the way we went in from).
That is how we took an hour to reach the school (the school is called ShanghaiAmericanSchool or SAS).
When saw SAS we all screamed of Joyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. When we reached SAS there people standing to take
Temperature. When we got inside of SAS we had to walk a long way to reach the building we where staying. When we reached where we where staying Mr. Pinchbeck was their to receive us. First we went upstairs and chose our spots. After we chose
Our spots we could come down and have a slice of Pizza After that we went outside to play games the games that I played were Ghost in the graveyard and tag. A few minutes later Mr. Fielke called us and said that we will play a game of tag altogether (the whole grade four) during the game Me and Hykle went inside. Hykle went inside to get his cough medicine and I came to drink some water. Later on we went to take our showers in the changing room I took my shower fast because I knew that the water would be cold. But still I was one of the last one two get out of the shower and line up. I stood there for a while because the other waited for there water to warm up or they had to brush there teeth. When we got back I read a bit then they turned off the lights and we could whisper to each other for a while then we would have to go to bed. When the schools were introduced we started to get ready for that the game in the second game I saved a goal, in the third game we got a tie and in the fourth game we lost. After are games we went to get our stuff and bring it down. When we got on the bus we got our sandwiches
Me and my Music lessons
I stared my piano lessons when I was 3 years old!!! I had a small toy Keyboard for me to learn on. I did very well when I started my Piano lessons. Later on I got a Yamaha Keyboard. I performed in one of my school events with me on the keyboard and my friends singing a song. When I went to Australia I had to undo what I learned in India. It was hard but I kept going .you know what I also performed. But this time I performed solo. When I came to china (Nanchang) kept going for Piano classes. But I had to undo my stile of playing. I had to learn Chinese songs. But when I moved to Nanjing I started to learn Guitar add stop Piano. First I learned fork Guitar in NIS. Somehow it did not work. Then I got a Teacher who comes to my House and teaches me once a week. Now I a learning classical Guitar. I finished a book already. My Dad is also learning Classical Guitar with me. The frock Guitar's string is made out of flexible metal thread and the Classical Guitar's strings are made of hard cotton threads.
Neil A.Armstorng
Neil A. Armstrong was the first man to land on the moon. He was born August 5, 1930 in Wapakoneta, Ohio. He was a pilot during the Korean War. In 1962 he joined the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) as a test pilot and astronaut.
When Armstrong was a child, he was interested in flying. He would always read about air travel. Mr. Zint, Neil’s neighbor, would let Neil look at the sky through his telescope. Neil would get things around his house and create planes. In first grade, Neil read 90 books and was reading as well as a fifth grader. On his sixteenth birthday, he received his pilot’s license. He received a scholarship to the University of Purdue, but went to serve in the Korean War. When he returned, he graduated with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering in 1955.
Neil Armstrong’s first job was flying for the Lewis Flight Propulsion Laboratory. This was something he really enjoyed. When Armstrong worked for the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA), he was sent to Edward’s Air Force Base in California. He tested many planes. Neil set altitude and speed records. He joined NASA in 1962.
When Armstrong joined NASA, he wasn’t picked right away to go to the moon. He had to work really hard. He was a back-up astronaut for the Gemini 5 mission. After three missions, Armstrong would go into space on the Gemini 8 mission. On July 16, 1969, Neil Armstrong, Edwin Aldrin, and Michael Collins made history by going to the moon. They went in Apollo 11. They landed on the moon on July 20, 1969. When Neil Armstrong stepped foot on the moon, he said, “That's one small step for man; one giant leap for mankind.”
Armstrong is a very intelligent man who has been given many honors. In 1993 Armstrong was elected into the Astronaut Hall of Fame. He received the Congressional Space Medal of Honor in 1978. This award is given to astronauts. He also received the Robert H. Goddard Memorial Trophy in 1970.
First time in N I S
The first time in NIS I was a little scared and nervous about will the teacher be nice or strict ,will I make friends and will everybody be nice to me.But now I have over grown my fear and made a lot of friends,the first person to be my friend in NIS was and still is Sasha and my teacher was very nice his name is Mr.Paul Underwood.

New Zealand
I went with my Mom & Dad during 2005 for a weeks trip. On the way I saw a beautiful lake it was very blue & looked like a drawing. would you like to see the picture?!
We went on a speed boat.it took us through a lake.In the middle of the cruise the peson who drove the speed boat said"Hold on tight!!!"The boat suddenly started to spin!!!!at first I was scared then I enjoyed it & I was only Five.i want to show the boat I went on...
Next we went for a bush walk.When I was walking I saw a Cold & scared Bird I wanted to help it but I was not allowed to!!!???...
How about we se that Bird???
Guess what.......We had Indian meals too!!!!!!!
