Letter About An Eclipse
How’s it going there? Going good here. Man you won’t believe our luck here in South Africa. We heard hundreds of people came to see the solar eclipse. (like when the sun is blocked out by the moon)! We see an eclipse. It was massively impressive how dark it became in a sudden. Luckily we had some safety glasses to see the solar eclipse.
We waited a while and then it started. We watched the sun from my back garden.
The moon started to slowly cover the sun. It looked like the sun turned into a sickle at first. Then it looked like a half sun and then it was completely dark. The sun’s outline was like a think bright ring around the moon. The temperature cooled. But did not go really cold (thank the starts it didn’t) and all the birds around our house went totally quiet. Our dogs started howling and I was really worried. Luckily my dad told me it’s only natural since they are not used to sudden darkness during the day. Lappe. You know my cat? The ginger, brown, white, grey and black cat? Yeah, she started meowing really quietly and call her litter together and went into the garage. I think she was ACTUALLY scared. I mean nothing gets her scared. Not even when there is a dog twice her size about to bite her head of. Weird right? Anyway. It was really cool. You should go to China. I hear they have an eclipse there pretty soon. Guess it’s then your turn right? Ha ha ha
Say hi to you family for me.
Have Fun
Aletta
